We are very pleased to have BCR join our #SMARTERfinance for Families initiative by launching a mortgage with the best financial terms available to purchase Green Homes certified by Romania Green Building Council
Romanian Commercial Bank launches in partnership with Romania Green Building Council (RoGBC) a new type of mortgage loan for the purchase of green homes, through which the bank's customers are supported to make smart choices, with minimal impact on the environment.
The product offers the possibility to purchase green homes certified by Romania Green Building Council or homes with energy class A, built after January 2000.
The minimum value of the loan is 45,000 lei, and for the maximum amount BCR offers up to 85% of the investment value, with a repayment term of up to 30 years and with a variable interest rate of 3.55% per year. In addition, customers have zero credit analysis and administration fees and can choose between variable interest throughout the credit period or fixed interest for the first 5 or 10 years and then variable, say the bank's representatives.
"The development of the green credit portfolio represents the consolidation of BCR's role in the area of sustainability and environmental responsibility and the support of informing customers about the smart financial choices they can make, which are based on respect for the environment. "We aim to encourage sustainable investment and want to show customers the benefits of purchasing an energy-efficient home, which means a healthier environment, lower carbon footprint, lower utility costs and increased quality of life." explains Vlad Huţuleac, Deputy Executive Director, Products and Retail Segments, BCR.
A green home certified by RoGBC has a high energy performance, having minimal impact on the environment by optimizing the consumption of natural resources, while a home with a certificate of energy efficiency A indicates that the apartment is well insulated, has energy efficient facilities, which ensures minimal energy losses for heating, cooling and ventilation, for water heating and lighting.
In addition, the purchase of a green house represents a saving in the payment of utilities, resulting from the optimization of water consumption, the use of ecological, non-toxic materials and the implementation of solutions for waste collection and recycling. Also, the location of green homes reduces the impact on the environment associated with transport, by quick access to public transport or by being located in an area that can be traveled on foot or by bicycle.
"Green Homes certified housing by Romania Green Building Council offers a guarantee for potential buyers that they will receive quality, healthier, more comfortable homes, along with the financial benefits of owning a sustainable home. The loan from BCR offers an accessible financing to the families in order to allow a better design and construction of the houses ”, says Elena Rastei, Director of Certification Romania Green Building Council.
The Erste Group, the owner of BCR, is aligned with the UN Global set of commitments, in aspects related to the environment, social involvement and corporate governance, and BCR aims to lead the sustainability agenda locally, through an integrated responsible business approach, which includes and developing and supporting green financing for individual clients, but also for corporate clients.
